I am planning to get a new desktop machine and get a streamyx 1 Mbit line soon.
Currently really blog in luxuries enviroment >_<
My Maxis 3G broadband is too slow for me in my area.Thus, I got to visit cafe for dinner, surfing net and blog. Might be to costly for me. So, aim for AMD, Radeon graphic & 19" LCD. Any suggestion for me ?

Visual Studio 2008 & .NET Framework 3.5 Released!

Microsoft announced that Visual Studio 2008 and the .NET Framework 3.5 have been released to manufacturing (19 Nov 2007)

According to Scott Guthrie indicated that source code for the .NET Framework 3.5 will be released in October shortly after the framework itself is available.

Good news to be announced that Microsoft announced two Visual Studio 2008 licensing changes.

One, solutions built with the Visual Studio 2008 SDK (Software Development Kit) will not be limited to Windows or other Microsoft platforms, as they had been limited in the past.

Two, Premier-level VSIP partners can view Visual Studio 2008 source code for debugging purposes and see how their VS extensions are interacting with Visual Studio itself.

New Released Visual Studio 2008 Highlights include:

• Multi-targeting .NET Framework features.

• Language Intergrated Query (LINQ) which embeds queries for entities, collections, datasets, objects and XML within .NET programming language. Besides, New integrated features are LINQ syntax checking and schema checking.

• ASP.NET AJAX and Visual Studio Tools for Office, which were previously available as downloadable add-ins to Visual Studio, are included with VS 2008.

• Smarter Intellisense for Javascript Debugger includes:
  * VS 2008 JavaScript Intellisense
  * VS 2008 JavaScript Debugging
  * VS 2008 ASP.NET AJAX Control Extender Support
  * VS 2008 JavaScript Intellisense for Silverlight

• The .NET Framework 3.0 libraries have been updated, with a Windows Communication Foundation designer, WCF support for RSS and REST and better interaction between WCF and Windows Workflow Foundation among the improvements.

• Visual Studio Team System and Team Foundation server also received a refresh.These features include support for SharePoint 2007.New code analysis rules and check-in policies, better support for testing Ajax applications and continuous integration of builds.

Visual Studio 2008 still be part of the "marketing launch" at the end of Feb, 2008, along with
Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008.

MSDN subscribers can download Visual Studio and download the .NET Framework 3.5 today.

SAP Connector

SAP has no explicit plans to create a SAP.Connector compatible with Visual Studio 2005.

That is the reason why Softwise has developed a SAP Proxy Generator to create proxies for SAP's BAPIS & RFC.
This code generator is a Visual Studio 2005 Add-in that creates the source code, in C#, to comunicate with SAP (based on SAP.Connector.dll).

The Danger In "Join my NEW MLM" Syndrome

At the end of the day, I take a long deep breath after seeing countless new business opportunities or new MLM programs in my email box. Most of them are not even opened because with a glance on the title I can expect what the content is all about.

The sad part is that sometimes, I even recognize the names of some of the people who promote their opportunities and every time the spam was sent, there’s always new ’so called’ opportunity.

I begin to wonder if these programs are really successful to them or they are just trying their luck to make even one ‘incidental’ sale. To make the matter worse, these people are promoting MLM related programs, which only adds negativity to this business model.

After studying many successful people in MLM, I know that it takes time for them to build a successful MLM business. It takes constant promotion of the same business opportunity over a long period of time - not in the “Join My New MLM” program.

That is why I doubt that the little marketers who are promoting multiple MLM programs at the same time are making any money at all.

Yes, it can be tempting to join the latest and “greatest” business opportunity on the planet earth.

The promise of “groundbreaking super profitable” commission structures and products can sometimes make you read their offer over and over again and you’d feel that you’d be in the loss if you don’t jump on board.

Beware. The truth is just the opposite.

If you jump on board over and over again in multiple business opportunities, chances are you’re losing more than gaining anything - except a pile of products that you’ll never use yourself.

So, what is the solution now?

Simple.

If you are already in any MLM program, give it your best and promote the program for a considerably long period of time. Just ignore any “join my new MLM program” temptation and evaluate if your current MLM program is worth your effort.

If you are not in any MLM program yet, choose carefully which opportunity is the best for you (not anyone else) and get into action in promoting it persistently. Inevitably, some of you might argue that you hate doing MLM but don’t mind getting the residual income and leverage.

My suggestion is start looking at the products that will benefit you, your health or your wealth. Then, study the compensation structures and other criteria of choosing the right MLM company for you.

You’d be surprised to see that many MLM companies have amazing products from personal development, webhosting, digital products to supplements, electrical appliances and many others.

Then, stick with the program until you’re successful.

By that time you become successful, your “new mlm program” will never be called “new opportunity” anymore. That’s when you realize that it’s not worth to keep on jumping from a company to another without putting your effort in making it successful.

How To Sync Or Connect Your PDA With Vista

In WindowsXP , usually PDA user would download ActiveSync to sync their data to their notebook.

Now, Vista User has more easier way to sync their data.
Just plug in your PDA with mini-usb cable and it should pop up autorun alike 's explorer to let you browser your PDA memory and storage card. An icon should be appeared in windows explorer beside your drive.

Now Vista user able to browser and play their storage card or main memory 's picture or song withouth downloading them to local notebook. It is such a great features!

Today, I couldn't see PDA Icon in besides my drive even I connected my PDA !!!
Then I realised that I had accidentally turn off one of the services.

Here is the service you should turn on:
1. Run services.msc
2. Find the services named:

Missing System.Data.DataSetExtension, Version=2.0.0.0

I recently built a relatively simple application in VB.net using
VS Studio 2008(the front end is attached to an Access database).
Everything seems to run smoothly on my machine and on any other
machine that has the .net 3.5 framework installed, but on any machines
running .net 2.0 or 1.1 I get an error message stating
"Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.DataSetExtensions, Version=2.0.0.0"
I'm using the dataset object to load the database records so I'm assuming
the problem is related to this.

As as summary, i found that:
1.The client machines running applications developed in .net 3.5 HAVE to have the 3.5 framework installed.

2. Developer machine should have dotnexfx2.0 installed too. ( My machine is Vista come with existing 2.0 framework, thus I need to add reference of this file: System.Data.DataSetExtensions.dll

Xceed Datagrid For WPF In XBAP

I did a XBAP Demo in my company sharing session, and wish to see more interactive and creative design with Microsoft WPF , .net 3.0 Framework.

Capture Web Shot With FireShot Add-On

Do you ever want to print screen a website and send the image to you friend via IM?

I did this quite a lot of time. Pressing "print screen" button, then in "run" command type "mspaint" and paste the clips on launched Microsoft Paint. Is this the simplest way ?

I am wondering until I discovered FireShot ( Firefox add-on ), it come in handy with a click of snap, and I got my image in specific folder to send to my college or friend.

For IE user, I am not sure how to install this add on on it. If you have any idea, just post to me.

Try to flush DNS by typing: ipconfig /flushdns 3. Register your DNSagain by typing: ipconfig /registerdns 4. Then try login MSN Live Messenger again. 5. Displays all current TCP/IP network configuration values and refreshes Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System (DNS) settings. Used without parameters, ipconfig displays the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway for all adapters.

Parameters

/all : Displays the full TCP/IP configuration for all adapters. Without this parameter, ipconfig displays only the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway values for each adapter. Adapters can represent physical interfaces, such as installed network adapters, or logical interfaces, such as dial-up connections.

/renew [Adapter] : Renews DHCP configuration for all adapters (if an adapter is not specified) or for a specific adapter if the Adapter parameter is included. To specify an adapter name, type the adapter name that appears when you use ipconfig without parameters.

/release [Adapter] : Sends a DHCPRELEASE message to the DHCP server to release the current DHCP configuration and discard the IP address configuration for either all adapters (if an adapter is not specified) or for a specific adapter if the Adapter parameter is included. This parameter disables TCP/IP for adapters configured to obtain an IP address automatically. To specify an adapter name, type the adapter name that appears when you use ipconfig without parameters.

/flushdns : Flushes and resets the contents of the DNS client resolver cache. During DNS troubleshooting, you can use this procedure to discard negative cache entries from the cache, as well as any other entries that have been added dynamically.

/displaydns : Displays the contents of the DNS client resolver cache, which includes both entries preloaded from the local Hosts file and any recently obtained resource records for name queries resolved by the computer. The DNS Client service uses this information to resolve frequently queried names quickly, before querying its configured DNS servers.

/registerdns : Initiates manual dynamic registration for the DNS names and IP addresses that are configured at a computer. You can use this parameter to troubleshoot a failed DNS name registration or resolve a dynamic update problem between a client and the DNS server without rebooting the client computer. The DNS settings in the advanced properties of the TCP/IP protocol determine which names are registered in DNS.

/showclassid Adapter : Displays the DHCP class ID for a specified adapter. To see the DHCP class ID for all adapters, use the asterisk (*) wildcard character in place of Adapter. This parameter is available only on computers with adapters that are configured to obtain an IP address automatically.

Little Bits About Avalon

Avalon

Avalon a.k.a “Windows Presentation Foundation” was announced at PDC 2003. Microsoft has made a lot of detailed information available since then.

Microsoft introduced XAML (see CoDe Magazine, March/April 2006 for an introductory article) as a new development paradigm. No doubt that WPF and XAML are exciting technologies with lots of potential. But XAML quickly gets overwhelming. Complex UIs design able to build with simple XAML codes. Thus enable web 2.0 to perform even better and friendly to web user.

Two years after initial announcement of Avalon ( PDC 2005 ), Microsoft has announced not one but two editors for XAML and WPF interfaces: “Sparkle” (the codename for what will probably ship as “Microsoft Expression Interactive Designer”… another name I already dread using) and “Cider” (another codename for a tool which’s final name I do not even have a good guess for).

Beyond that, third parties are now showing support for WPF: Zam3D, an Electric Rain product (www.erain.com) is setting out to be the tool of choice for 3D UI design tasks. Mobiform Aurora (www.mobiform.com) is more a conventional UI design tool. And these are just two examples.

Let's recall back some of the events happened:

1) In late December 2005, Microsoft released a new CTP (Community Technology Preview) of the WinFX Extensions for Visual Studio. This preview version came with a few surprises. Earlier CTPs of the Visual Studio Extensions for WinFX were a very simple set of project templates that allowed developers to edit and compile XAML files low level as plain XML. The main purpose of the extensions was to enable developers to create a new project that contained the right files and references and to be able to compile these files without having to resort to command line operation. The December CTP, however, is completely different! It represents a full-blown preview version of “Orcas” (the next version of Visual Studio), including “Cider,” the WPF equivalent of the current WinForms editor. You can get the WinFX Extensions for VS2005 from http://msdn.microsoft.com/winfx.

2) In January 2006, Microsoft released the first public beta of Sparkle. Microsoft created Sparkle exclusively for the purpose of creating rich WPF interfaces. Sparkle exists outside the Visual Studio family and instead belongs to the new “Expression Designer” family, which also includes “Acrylic”-a new graphics design tool similar to Adobe Illustrator, but with an emphasis on Avalon as a possible target platform-and “Quartz”-a new design tool for Web pages. Most likely, these three tools will ultimately ship as “Microsoft Expression Graphics Designer”, “Microsoft Expression Interactive Designer”, and “Microsoft Expression Web Designer”. 3) Microsoft announced a “Go-Live License” for some of the WinFX components, in particular WWF (Windows Workflow Foundation) and WCF (Windows Communication Foundation), essentially allowing people to ship products based on the beta versions of the technology. Does it make sense to actually ship software based on beta versions of the underlying technology? Well, it may, and it may not. It will depend on the situation. But it is not as outlandish as it may seem at first. Keep in mind that technology has grown more and more complex. For Microsoft to ship the final version of something like WCF (formerly known as “Indigo”) the core technology has to be ready long before many of the tools and auxiliary technologies are completed. Therefore, shipping software based on the core technology has allure for many developers who are willing to embrace these technologies even without proper tools. Unfortunately, the Go-Live license currently does not include WPF. This has to do with the fact that WPF is a somewhat more complicated undertaking for Microsoft to make sure that they properly support all platforms and graphics cards and configurations. Also, updating a single server with new WCF components is significantly easier than updating a large number of clients. And Microsoft felt that they haven’t had the chance to test WPF appropriately to provide a Go-Live license at this point. However, Microsoft has also stated that a WPF Go-Live License will follow and that means that WPF will be usable much earlier than previously anticipated.

The Development Scenarios

So how should one envision a typical development scenario in the WPF world?

Well, there are multiple distinct approaches. Developers are likely to use Visual Studio “Orcas” and the “Cider” UI designer. Microsoft created the “Cider” designer specifically with the developer in mind. In fact, if you are familiar with Visual Studio’s WinForms designer, you will find many similarities (at least at first sight) between Cider and WinForms. Of course, there are many differences under the hood. In the WPF world, all forms are created based on XAML rather than defining the UI in code. And just the fact that the UI is based on WPF means that the paradigm has changed quite a bit, which you’ll see once you start to poke around. Screen layout is defined quite differently for instance (based on layout controls such as flow panels or grids in addition to absolute positioning). Nevertheless, developers will find similarities to current Windows design environments and they will feel at home here.

Microsoft created Sparkle, on the other hand, with designers in mind. Sparkle has timelines, animations, and transformations. People who have used tools and environments such as Macromedia Flash will feel at home here. However, I have to say that after spending quite a bit of time in Sparkle, I find it a very fascinating product even from the developer’s point of view. (A statement that I would not make about Flash MX.) Sparkle also seems to be quite a bit further along than Cider and I found it more suitable for real-life development at this point.

Note that Sparkle, although not part of Visual Studio, uses the same project and solution structure as Visual Studio. It is therefore possible to move back and forth between the two tools. I prefer Visual Studio’s Cider to write code (at least at this point), but I like Sparkle for the visual design. For this reason I find myself switching back and forth between the two products a lot, and it works very well.

Of course, WPF applications are visually very sophisticated. Some of this sophistication is created through 2-D and 3-D graphics. For all 2-D needs, check out Acrylic (a.k.a. Microsoft Expression Graphics Designer). It is great for creating vector graphics. It is also great for creating pixel graphics. And it is awesome if you need to combine the two. Acrylic creates all important image formats if you want to save your creations as files such as JPGs or PNGs. In addition, Acrylic can create XAML files. So if you ever need your company logo defined purely in XAML, Acrylic is the way to go. I have to admit that I have taken a liking to Acrylic. I now use it for all my imaging needs, including some of the high-quality art we need for CoDe Magazine.

Microsoft does not provide a tool to design 3-D artwork. Zam3D from Electric Rain (www.erain.com) really steps up to the plate here. It provides a very straightforward tool to create relatively sophisticated 3-D graphics and animations. And best of all, not only does it create XAML output that you can use in your WPF projects, but it integrates very well with Sparkle (and presumably Cider at a later point). Of course, Zam3D isn’t a professional 3-D tool like Maya (the kind of tool Industrial Lights and Magic would use to create advanced animations for movies like Shrek). And for most XAML scenarios, Zam3D is much more appropriate and usable than high level 3-D tools. However, when that level of sophistication is needed (and your team has the skills needed to use such tools), then it is possible to integrate art assets from these tools in your WPF projects. However, for most developers, Maya will be a bit of unusable overkill, while Zam3D is a very feasible alternative, both in terms of learning-curve and expense.
